The Save Our Poolz Coalition is asking for community residents to help them remind Worcester City Councilors of their campaign pledges and commitments to Worcester's nine municipal pools. Commissioner Bob Moylan announced this past week that the proposal he has submitted to the City Manager calls for the closing of 5 Worcester pools!

Dear City Councilors,

I believe Worcester's pools are important and ask that you do everything possible to work with the City Manager to find the money to rebuild all nine pools.

The Save Our Poolz Coalition has been working to guarantee that our nine city pools and five beaches are open, maintained, and accessible to our neighborhoods. Shortly you will receive the the City Manager's plan which currently calls for rebuilding only five (5) of the nine (9) Worcester pools.

City pools are an important part of Worcester's neighborhoods. Survey after survey of Worcester families has stated that sprinklers are not an acceptable replacement for Worcester's pools.

The Save Our Poolz Coalition thanks the City Manager for his commitment of some capital funds towards pools, and asks for one variation to the plan. We are requesting an extension of his five year, $2 million dollar a year commitment, to a nine year, $2 million dollar a year commitment. This would mean that in 9 years all 9 pools could be rebuilt.

We hope you will support the effort to rebuild ALL nine (9) Worcester pools.

Sincerely,
