Nearly 250 join Worcester anti-war march

It was a beautiful day today, and six people were already gathered for the peace rally in Lincoln Square at 11am. Over 165 were on hand when Grace Ross gave a brief speech to start the event, and at noon I counted 195 marching down Main Street, not including press, police, infants, and dogs.

Two people were waiting at City Hall, and at the same moment that the 195 got there, 39 Clark students arrived from the south. Almost 250 marchers were on hand for remarks from Michael True, Sarah Assefa, the Lucey family (of Gold Star Families for Peace), Rep. Jim McGovern, Cindy Fisher, Gwen Davis, and Fr Michael Bafaro. They spoke from many perspectives, with one message in common: bring the troops home now.
